How do we make our assessment system more open to...

Issue Addressed:

How do we make our assessment system more open to parents, principals, and non-math teachers. All of these groups have a stake in how well students learn mathematics.

Solution:

We provide opportunities for all stakeholders to preview the types of questions on the New Standards Reference Exam. These stakeholders include school staffs and our Parent School Community Councils. These experiences provide them with a context in which to place the mathematics curriculum. We brainstorm within the groups to develop ideas for improving student achievement in mathematics.
