This easy to read, informative paper describes the success of the coaching program that has been used with math teachers in the Spearfish Middle School (S.D.) and has involved Ben Sayler, PI of the BLAHST LSC. The program has provided teachers with professional learning that occurred in their own classrooms and allowed them to see their students interact with different teachers and teaching styles. By observing lessons presented in these new ways, these teachers were able to reflect on and more deeply understand how they could improve their own practices. "The process itself led to a culture of collegiality, dialogue, and reflection among the participants that centered on real classroom issues and the classroom teachers' individual concerns."
