Purpose:

Explore Critical Issues in Assessment for student understanding Understand the impact of Formative Assessment on student learning Support sustainable professional learning communities

Goals:

  • Experience modalities that promote higher levels of student thinking
  • Explore the use of science notebooks & their role in student learning
  • Engage in formative & summative core curriculum assessments
  • Learn from scientists & science writers how they use Notebooks in their work
  • Create an action plan to support & sustain effective science instruction at your school
