"NCES' Common Core of Data (CCD) has just completed a major redesign of their web site. CCD is a comprehensive, annual, national statistical database of information concerning all public elementary and secondary schools (approximately 95,000) and school districts (approximately 17,000). The CCD contains much useful data in databases and downloadable files. NCES has developed powerful application tools to assist everyone from the casual browser to the serious researcher to search for and extract the information they need."
