Our Earth As Art

description: This exhibit is also currently at the Library of Congress. It highlights 41 of 400,000 images taken of Earth from space as part of the Landsat program, jointly run by USGS and NASA At the site, you can click on a map to view images by continent. Clicking a particular image will allow you to view a larger picture and a short description. "They look like the work of abstract artists, but the images reflect reality - the rhythmic shapes of mountains, deserts, clouds, fjords, scattered cities and towns turned into brilliant patches of red, green and blue - flashed to earth from a satellite 440 miles in space."
