The Secretary's Mathematics and Science Initiative is now posted on the Department of Education's Web site and it contains presentations and papers given at the Mathematics Summit held in February 2003 in Washington DC.
The Mathematics Summit was convened by US Secretary of Education Rod Paige to discuss ways to improve student achievement and instruction, further engage the public, develop a research base, and enhance teacher knowledge. Participants in the meeting included representatives from business, academia, and the federal government.
