Created in response to widespread interest in inquiry-based science instruction, the Exploratorium Institute for Inquiry provides workshops, programs, on-line support, and an intellectual community of practice which afford science reform
educators a deep and rich experience of how inquiry learning looks and feels.
The Exploratorium also provides free (on-line) professional development activities which can be used to develop an understanding of inquiry and the elements of inquiry teaching. Each activity is briefly written up and illustrated to give an overview. These include many activities, such as Foam and Ice Balloons, which have been used in LSC projects Summer Workshops.
