It is very difficult to provide consistent staff development for...

Issue Addressed:

It is very difficult to provide consistent staff development for all staff in a multi-track year round schedule. One of the difficulties of doing professional development with Project Prime is our district operates on a multi-track year round schedule. Each month 1/4 of the students and staff are on vacation.

Each staff development activity must be presented twice. For example, last December we had a district-wide pupil free staff development day in which our P.I. did a presentation. The following month he repeated the same talk to the group that was on vacation in December.

Unresolved Issues:

There are occasions when it almost impossible to provide the same presentation. We have William Schmidt coming in March to our district. We cannot force the teachers who are on vaction in March to attend and we cannot have Mr. Schmidt back the following month.
