subject: reminder and a question
I'd like to encourage the other subscribers to post an intro message, this
week if at all possible, so we have some sense for who's out there with what
interests.
From the two posts so far though, I wonder: Is it the case that there are
not good assessments for diagnosing deeper understanding, or just that the
assessments that do so do not scale up well for district- or state-wide
measurements? Are there particular characteristics, or kinds of reasoning,
that are just hard to pick up at any scale?
