This report details a 1996 study of middle school science instructional materials conducted by Janice Earle, James Ellis, and their colleagues. The study examined whether middle school science instructional materials "provide for a comprehensive program for middle school science consistent with the national standards for science education." Among the materials examined in this study are curricula such as FOSS and STC used by several LSC projects.
