Our project (middle school science) is advocating high quality instructional materials as the basis of instruction and curriculum implementation. Despite the fact that we have identified some worthy curricula, some parents in schools are demanding that each child be issued a textbook. Their argument is based on the perception that students need a textbook to refer to when they are confused or need to study. What arguments are you using to combat this argument?
