How has your project measured the effectiveness of your teacher...

Reply 1:

Measuring effectiveness of teacher workshops: 1. classroom observations using Horizon protocol for participating teachers vs. non-participating teachers; 2. Embedded assessment system which requires every K-6 teacher to submit assessments embedded in the curriculum (FOSS); 3. On-site support by LSC staff who conduct demonstration lessons, coaching, assistance with material management; Support of site math and science leadership teams composed of principal and lead teachers; Multiple measures including norm refereced tests in math and science, embedded assessments, tracking of teacher participation by site, classroom observations, and matrix sampling by performance assessments at grades 5 and 8 in science (CSIAC). This has all been documented in our Program Effectiveness Review report to NSF.
