subject: Re: high accountability
For example, there area four 1/2 release times for teachers each year. Our
cohort schools and some others, commit to at least one of these with a
science focus. This week, 5 of the 20 schools who scheduled with us and
actually planned a program have cancelled because they HAVE to do "other
things".
We are struggling with how to help folks stay focused. At this point we
are hoping the district may support lateral resource team meeting so that
we can share our agenda and try to develop a more seamless set of
applications for elementary teachers who are teaching it all.
As for inquiry/depth vs. breadth... I just keep reminding people of how
many things students "forget" after the "test"
We can help everyone feel less frantic if we can pare down the volume and
help children make sense.

Sorry for lurking thus far.... gotta get in that annual report :) Cheers!
