I appreciate Jerry's recent post. One thing that is clear from it, as from other recent posts, is that a fundamental need is simply the distribution of information. Even at this very concrete, operational level (pardon the pun), it is a challenge to get people to "listen," to get used to tuning in for information from a new source or about a new program. I suppose that information overload, as well as work overload, has a lot to do with it.
It also appears to me that another dimension of sharing the vision gets carried forward primarily by means of person-to-person meetings. What I mean is, the process by which teachers explore, critique, and digest new attitudes and ideas together -- my sense is that this happens at workshops, or at meetings with teacher leaders, rather than by email or a discussion area on a website. Perhaps this depends on whether there are a lot of participating teachers in a school, or just a few, who might feel isolated and need to reach out?
