NAGB is a 26-member board established by Congress in 1988 to set policy for the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). NAEP is the only nationally representative and continuing assessment of what America's elementary and secondary school students know and can do in various academic subjects. NAGB also has exclusive authority over the development of Voluntary National Tests. This site includes the 1996 NAEP Science achievement level results.
